Elevation can represent a digital terrain model (DTM) or a digital surface model (DSM), depending on the source. Some source heights can include surface features rather than bare ground. Accuracy depends on the source; a common harmonization process has not been confirmed.

NIMBO copied the Terrarium source data. The imported archive date and version have not been supplied; no additional NIMBO processing, enrichment or exact upstream edition is confirmed. Terrarium and Terrain-RGB remain distinct products.

PNG elevation tiles use Terrarium encoding. Zoom 13 returned data in the sampled areas; Paris requests at 14–15 returned HTTP 204. The TileJSON does not state a zoom range, so 0–13 follows the product guide and the tested working levels. Use the extensionless URL.

Limitations

Ground pixel spacing varies with zoom and latitude. Approximately 19 m per pixel at the equator at zoom 13 is tile-grid spacing, not a uniform native dataset resolution.
Configure client maxzoom to 13 and oversample at higher display zooms. The sampled zoom-14 and zoom-15 requests returned HTTP 204 with no image.
Use Terrarium decoding with its -32768 offset. Terrain-RGB decoding produces incorrect elevation values.
The service's TileJSON echoes the request token in tile URLs. Remove credentials before saving or sharing metadata.
