Method and interpretation
The monthly synthesis interpolates the available and usable Sentinel-2 acquisitions, taking cloud coverage into account, to represent conditions as close as possible to the 15th of the represented month. The 15th is a synthesis target, not the acquisition date of every pixel.
Traceability classes describe calendar months relative to the requested month M, not exact acquisition dates. The class-assignment rule for pixels interpolated from multiple acquisitions is unknown. NoData and transparency behavior have not been specified.
The map NDVI is a colorized render calculated from the monthly synthesis. Numerical NDVI values are not directly accessible from that render. Calculating NDVI from the synthesis is distinct from averaging per-acquisition NDVI values. The 8-bit colors do not define a 0–255 to NDVI conversion.

Numerical NDVI delivery and the NDVI statistics API are separate from the colorized map service. Their availability and access conditions have not been confirmed.

Rendered map tiles. TMS rows count from the south: yTMS = 2^z - 1 - yXYZ. Zooms 0–18 are advertised; a listed zoom or layer does not guarantee a non-empty tile for every location and date. Some zoom-0 requests exceeded the 20-second audit timeout.

Service checks and limitations
Checked:
WMS 1.1.1 GetMap was checked with SRS=EPSG:3857 and FORMAT=image/png. Request dimensions and BBOX define the image. The tested image/jpeg request returned PNG; GetFeatureInfo did not provide raw NDVI values.

Limitations
Cloud reduction is a processing objective; residual clouds and artefacts remain possible. Quantified cloud-removal performance and radiometric-stability measurements have not been supplied.
Traceability availability must be checked independently of RGB, for the requested area and edition. Some advertised archive editions returned errors in samples checked on 2026-09-30. Current availability for those editions has not been confirmed.
Availability and access conditions for LAI, the 2020 reference product and the NDVI statistics API have not been confirmed. Contact NIMBO about these products and services.
No published benchmark currently establishes relative loading speed or performance against competing services.
- Some advertised Traceability archive tiles returned HTTP 502 in the audit, including January 2020 and November 2021. A capabilities entry alone does not confirm a working tile.
