¹ Static reports, presentations, screenshots, exported images and analytical results may be supplied to clients. NIMBO and the applicable source datasets must be credited. Interactive access, reusable datasets, raw imagery and redistribution rights are not included.

The following terms describe different ways of using, sharing or distributing NIMBO. They do not grant the same rights and should not be considered interchangeable.

Professional use

Use NIMBO within your professional activity for analysis, monitoring, planning or decision-making.

Examples include:

  • evaluating sites in QGIS;
  • monitoring infrastructure or construction;
  • analysing agricultural or environmental areas;
  • preparing a professional study;
  • supporting internal operational decisions.

Pro and Pro HD allow professional use by one licensed user.

Static client deliverables

Include NIMBO content or analytical results in a non-interactive document provided to a client, partner or stakeholder.

Examples include:

  • a NIMBO map in a PDF report;
  • a NIMBO screenshot;
  • an exported image in a presentation;
  • a printed map;
  • a static chart, figure or analytical result derived from NIMBO.

Static client deliverables are allowed with Pro and Pro HD, subject to the required attribution.

The recipient does not receive any right to access, extract, reuse or redistribute NIMBO imagery or services.

Interactive client-facing access

Display NIMBO imagery inside an application or service accessed by customers, partners or other external users.

Examples include:

  • a customer portal;
  • a client dashboard;
  • an interactive web map;
  • a mobile application;
  • a monitoring platform shared with external users.

Interactive client-facing access requires an Enterprise agreement.

Product integration / OEM

Embed NIMBO as a component of a product or service that is sold, licensed or distributed to third parties.

Examples include:

  • a commercial SaaS platform;
  • a monitoring product sold to customers;
  • a white-label mapping application;
  • NIMBO imagery embedded in another commercial product;
  • access provided to several end customers.

Product integration and OEM rights are defined in an Enterprise agreement.

Resale or redistribution

Provide third parties with access to NIMBO imagery, map services or reusable data.

Examples include:

  • reselling NIMBO imagery;
  • redistributing TMS, WMS or WMTS access;
  • sublicensing access to customers;
  • providing NIMBO through another API;
  • allowing third parties to download or reuse NIMBO imagery.

Resale and redistribution are not included in Pro or Pro HD. They require specific rights defined in an Enterprise agreement.

Data delivery or download

Receive NIMBO imagery as files or bulk datasets for local storage, offline processing or integration into another system.

Depending on the Enterprise offer, delivery may include:

  • GeoTIFF;
  • Cloud Optimized GeoTIFF;
  • imagery for a defined area of interest;
  • historical archives;
  • custom raster packages.

Standard access through TMS, WMS or WMTS is not considered bulk data delivery. Download and delivery rights are defined in an Enterprise agreement.

The selected plan determines the available imagery layers and usage rights.

The selected GeoCredit tier determines how much imagery you can consume each month.

For example:

  • all Pro tiers provide the same Pro layers;
  • all Pro HD tiers provide the same Pro HD layers;
  • a higher tier increases your monthly GeoCredit allowance.

If you are unsure which allowance you need, start with the tier closest to your expected usage and monitor consumption from your NIMBO account.

For recurring monitoring across many locations, large territories, multiple users or integrated applications, an Enterprise plan may be more appropriate.

A GeoCredit, or GC, is the usage unit for NIMBO map services.

Each time Earth Online, a GIS or an application requests one map tile, one GeoCredit is deducted:

1 map tile = 1 GeoCredit

Panning and zooming generally load several tiles. Consumption therefore depends on:

  • the geographical area displayed;
  • the zoom level;
  • the number of layers loaded;
  • navigation frequency;
  • client-side caching.

Read the full GeoCredits documentation for usage examples and balance monitoring instructions.

What happens when the balance reaches zero?

Section titled “What happens when the balance reaches zero?”

When no GeoCredits remain, new map tiles become temporarily unavailable.

You can then:

  1. wait for your next monthly renewal;
  2. move to a higher GeoCredit tier;
  3. purchase a GeoCredits Refill Pack;
  4. contact NIMBO about an Enterprise allowance.

Refill Packs provide additional GeoCredits before your next monthly renewal.

They are available to Pro and Pro HD subscribers.

Are annual GeoCredits provided all at once?

Section titled “Are annual GeoCredits provided all at once?”

No.

Annual subscriptions are billed once per year, but the selected GeoCredit allowance is renewed every month.

For example, a Pro 40k annual subscription provides 40,000 GC each month, not 480,000 GC as one initial balance.

Does a higher GeoCredit tier unlock additional layers?

Section titled “Does a higher GeoCredit tier unlock additional layers?”

No.

Available layers are determined by the selected plan:

  • Pro provides 10 m RGB, NIR and NDVI;
  • Pro HD adds NIMBO HD at 2.5 m;
  • the GeoCredit tier determines monthly consumption capacity.

Can I use Pro or Pro HD for professional work?

Section titled “Can I use Pro or Pro HD for professional work?”

Yes.

Pro and Pro HD allow one licensed user to use NIMBO for professional analysis, monitoring, planning and decision-making.

Can I include NIMBO in a client report or presentation?

Section titled “Can I include NIMBO in a client report or presentation?”

Yes.

Pro and Pro HD allow credited NIMBO maps, screenshots, exported images and analytical results in static client deliverables.

They do not allow interactive client access, delivery of reusable imagery or redistribution.

Can my clients access NIMBO in a dashboard or application?

Section titled “Can my clients access NIMBO in a dashboard or application?”

Not with Pro or Pro HD.

Interactive client-facing access requires an Enterprise agreement.

Can I integrate NIMBO into a product that I sell?

Section titled “Can I integrate NIMBO into a product that I sell?”

Product integration, OEM use, resale and redistribution require an Enterprise agreement.

Discovery provides access to a watermarked NIMBO HD test layer for evaluation.

A Pro HD or Enterprise plan is required to access NIMBO HD without a watermark.

What should I choose if 20,000 GeoCredits are not enough?

Section titled “What should I choose if 20,000 GeoCredits are not enough?”

You can select a higher allowance directly:

  • Pro: up to 80,000 GC / month;
  • Pro HD: up to 160,000 GC / month.

For exceptional temporary use, you can purchase Refill Packs.

For recurring heavy consumption, many sites, large territories, multiple users or integrated applications, contact NIMBO about an Enterprise plan.

No.

Unused monthly GeoCredits expire when the monthly balance is renewed.

Read the Credits and attribution guide before publishing NIMBO imagery or analyses in a client deliverable.
