WMTS

Use the lowercase service path:

https://prod-data.nimbo.earth/mapcache/wmts?kermap_token=<YOUR_TOKEN>

The checked service implements WMTS 1.0.0. The uppercase /mapcache/WMTS/1.0.0 URL formerly shown here returned HTTP 400 in the 2026-09-30 audit.

https://prod-data.nimbo.earth/mapcache/wmts/1.0.0/WMTSCapabilities.xml?kermap_token=<YOUR_TOKEN>

The KVP form also works:

https://prod-data.nimbo.earth/mapcache/wmts?SERVICE=WMTS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities&VERSION=1.0.0&kermap_token=<YOUR_TOKEN>

Read the layer identifiers, formats, styles and matrix sets from this XML. The verified configuration uses EPSG:3857, matrix set kermap, style default, and 256 × 256 PNG tiles.

Verified REST template:

https://prod-data.nimbo.earth/mapcache/wmts/1.0.0/{LAYER}/default/kermap/{z}/{y}/{x}.png?kermap_token=<YOUR_TOKEN>

Rows count from the north, as in XYZ. The REST order is zoom / row / column. Use the numeric matrix level, such as 12.

Equivalent KVP example:

https://prod-data.nimbo.earth/mapcache/wmts?SERVICE=WMTS&REQUEST=GetTile&VERSION=1.0.0&LAYER=2026_8_1&STYLE=default&TILEMATRIXSET=kermap&TILEMATRIX=12&TILEROW=1409&TILECOL=2074&FORMAT=image/png&kermap_token=<YOUR_TOKEN>

Use the Data Catalog for dated observations of available editions. A capabilities entry does not guarantee a non-empty tile at every location.

The audit found an inconsistency in the advertised limits for 2021_11_3: the Paris tile at zoom 12, row 1409, column 2074 returned data, although it falls outside that layer’s listed row limits. If a WMTS client hides an otherwise working historical layer, compare its behavior with the TMS service and report the layer and coordinates.

Retrieve it from your NIMBO Dashboard. Follow the authentication guide.
